Flexible infiltration system next to and under the road

Rockflow solutions can be applied in various different configurations such as central attenuation and drainage systems and swales. The most common solution is the linear attenuation and drainage system.

For linear attenuation and drainage, a system of Rockflow stone wool elements are placed in parallel underneath a road. The infiltration line captures rainwater from the street, the pavement and the surrounding plots. In the majority of situations, line infiltration replaces the rainwater sewer. Waste water from toilets, washing machines and showers is transported for water treatment through a second adjacent pipe.

The size of the stone wool package is determined based on a number of variables, taking into account the hard surface area, storage requirements and available room. The buffer is connected to various sorts of drains by pipes.

A Rockflow water storage and infiltration system is applied in the municipality of Maasgouw (Limburg) under residential streets as a rainwater sewer. The municipality had previously successfully installed the Rockflow buffer system under playgrounds and parking lots.
